 Hi I'm Kirnjit, a mum to two beautiful children, who are both home educated. We live in NW London.

I studied Health and Social Care after leaving school and spent a couple of years on a work placement in a school. I loved the idea of being a teacher, however at that stage my career took me in the direction of the finance sector, working in banking customer service, followed by book-keeping.

Having my daughter in 2004, definitely bought out my creative side, I loved making clothes and dolls for her. When she was a couple of years old, I learnt about home education. Her father and I both agreed this was the path we wanted to take. I made worksheets for my daughter, which she loved doing and we made books together on a range of subjects. We also spent a lot of time reading, playing, cooking and doing arts and crafts.

 After my son was born in 2014 I spent a lot of time doing sensory activities with him. I knew home educating him would be different as he was far more active and enjoyed learning through play. By then I had become far more knowledgeable about different methods of teaching and learning. I decided to create and design some activity pages for my son to learn in a creative and fun way at home. Some local child minders and parents saw them and were really excited by them. They asked me to make the activity binder for their children. Within a couple of weeks, I started to get more orders and in June 2017 We Love Reading Activity Binders was established.

 

The support from the home education community and also  families with children with ADHD or Autism has been wonderful.
